Do the Wright Brothers Consider themselves Entitled?
While Wilbur and Orville should feel exalted in their discovery, they did not feel entitled to their success until 1908. They discouraged publicity until their patent was published and once it was published, the brothers were able to embrace their design wholeheartedly. They did pride themselves with their new discovery, and felt entitled to success. Both brothers never attend a collage or obtained degrees, so producing a product that was successful in testing and the market was a great achievement. By overcoming their obstacles, rivalries, and traditions, the Wright brothers went from two boys with a bicycle shop and a dream, to a couple of inventors with a revolutionary product.
