The Alliance with Europe
Wilbur and Orville Wright preferably worked together because they complimented each other; Orville was the impetuous dreamer, while Wilbur was the rationalizer. However, they corresponded with the European scholars on the engineering of the plane. While their role model, the German Otto Lilienthal, died in his attempts to uncover these mysteries, the brothers could not give up on their vocation of this engineering. They made many clients and connections with the French scholars who, in the future, would adopt the Wright brother's innovation. Wilbur corresponded with the French expert on gliders, Octave Chanute, to figure out where Lilienthal failed and how to improve. Thanks to this connection the brothers discovered the problems with the European design, and the warped-wing glider was discovered.
